Nazar ka check-up totally freeBlue cut, anti-glare or photochromic: which lens coating do you need?
بلیو کٹ، اینٹی گلیئر یا فوٹوکرومک
These four names are often mixed up in shops. Each one solves a different problem.

| Lens | What it does | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Anti-glare (anti-reflective) | Cuts reflections from the lens surface, so more light reaches the eye | Night driving, computer work, anyone who wants clearer lenses |
| Blue cut | Filters part of the blue light from screens. Has a slight yellow or blue tint | People who prefer it for long screen hours |
| Photochromic | Clear indoors, darkens in sunlight | People who move between indoors and outdoors all day |
| Polarized | Blocks glare bouncing off roads, water and car bonnets. Sunglasses only | Driving and riding in strong sun |
Do blue light glasses work?
Blue cut lenses are popular, but the evidence is modest. The American Academy of Ophthalmology does not recommend special blue light glasses for computer use, because screen eye strain comes mainly from blinking less and focusing close for long periods. Many people still find blue cut lenses comfortable. If your eyes feel tired at a screen, the 20-20-20 habit helps more: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. An up-to-date number matters most of all, so start with an eye test.
Anti-glare glasses
Anti-glare is the coating most people benefit from. Headlights at night spread less, and others can see your eyes instead of reflections. The coating scratches if lenses are wiped dry, so follow the glasses care guide.
Photochromic glasses
Photochromic lenses react to ultraviolet light. They darken within a minute outdoors and clear again indoors. They do not darken much inside a car, because the windscreen blocks UV. For driving in sun, choose polarized sunglasses made to your number.
All of these are available at EyeBar Optical. See lens types and options or add lenses to an order.
