Nazar ka check-up totally freeHow to check your eyesight at home
گھر پر نظر کیسے چیک کریں
A home check can tell you that something is wrong. It cannot tell you your number. Use it to decide whether to come in for a test.

Three checks you can do today
- Distance. Stand about six metres from a calendar or a shop sign with clear letters. Cover one eye with your palm, without pressing. Read the smallest line you can. Repeat with the other eye. If one eye is clearly worse, you need a test.
- Near. Hold a newspaper at 35 to 40 cm. If you have to push it further away to read, you probably need reading glasses.
- Straight lines. Look at a tiled wall or a door frame with one eye at a time. If straight lines look wavy or a patch is missing, see an eye specialist soon.
Signs of weak eyesight
- Headaches after reading, sewing or phone use
- Squinting or half-closing the eyes to see far
- Trouble seeing the road or headlights at night
- Holding the phone very close or very far
- Rubbing the eyes often
Checking a child's eyesight
Children rarely say they cannot see. Watch for sitting close to the TV, copying wrongly from the school board, tilting the head, or one eye turning in or out. Have a child's eyes tested before school starts and once a year after that.
Can eyesight be improved naturally?
A glasses number is caused by the shape of the eye. Exercises, eye drops and diet do not remove it. What does help your eyes: good light for reading, a break from screens every 20 minutes, time outdoors for children, and a diet with green vegetables. The World Health Organization estimates that at least one billion people have vision impairment that could have been prevented or has not yet been treated, mostly because they never had a test or glasses.
If any check above worries you, book a computerized eye test at EyeBar Optical. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

Questions
Can I find my number with a phone app?
Apps give a rough idea only. Glasses made from an app reading often cause headaches.
How often should eyesight be tested?
Every one to two years for adults and every year for children.
When should I go to an eye doctor instead?
For sudden loss of vision, a red painful eye, flashes of light, or an eye injury.
